DPR Mission Statement
The mission of DPR:
The rescue, care and adoption of unwanted and homeless dogs. Continued education of the general public on the importance of spaying/neutering, positive training methods, exercise and appropriate medical treatment with humane care.
To work hand and hand with other ethical rescue groups promoting good working relationships to save more lives.
So that we can:
Continue our passion that enables small miracles for the dogs and the people who love them.
Delaware Puppy Rescues' purpose is to reduce the number of homeless dogs and rescue Puppy Mill survivors to be adopted to properly matched families through a multi-step adoption process including dog training and education of the families to ensure permanent placement.
Our History:
- Delaware Puppy Rescue (DPR) was established in 2004 with the primary focus in the rescue and fostering of pregnant females, mother's with new litters and motherless litters that have been turned into shelters or found on the streets. In 2006 we expanded in the rescue of Puppy Mill survivors from Lancaster, PA. The reality of today's shelters is that puppies are put down as often as adult dogs. Our belief is that a dog who has proper training along with an adoptive families educated in proper care creates the foundation for permanent placement.
